Pacer girls start out on the right foot

The Parkland Composite High School Pacers senior girls basketball team has started the season on the right foot or should we say feet by winning gold in Spruce Grove Dec. 4 and 5.

The Pacers hammered Victoria Composite High School 77-27 in the first match-up. In the second game Edson beat Lloydminster 57-39.

The Pacers faced St. Peter the Apostle in the final, winning it 64-58.

Pacers Nicole Trainor was the tournament Most Valuable Player.

Coach Wanita Willcott has a roster of 14 girls this time around.

The Pacer girls have a league game on Dec. 16 against Hinton. Tip-off at Parkland gym is at 3:30 p.m. The Pacer boys game will follow.

The Pacers tournament is Jan. 8 and 9. The event is sponsored by Sobey’s.
