Fast breaks and aggressive play led the Parkland Panthers Junior Girls squad to a 74-28 win over the Holy Redeemer Rebels.

Sara Wild led the Panthers in scoring with a game-high 20 points. Kyla Kiland also added 18 in the win on Jan. 20.

The Panthers came out strong to start the game with precise shooting and passing. The team also had several defensive rebounds that lead to fast breaks up the court.

Head coach of the Parkland Panther Robin Kiland says that with the game being so fast paced it was important to move the ball quickly up the court.

“It was all about rebounds and getting the ball down the court fast enough to shoot,” said Kiland.

The Panthers constantly found open players up court which lead to the majority of their points.

Kiland said that the team also played very hard on defence, taking the Rebels strong hand away from them as they pushed up court to force them to dribble with their left hand.

“Everyone played very well, very strong,” said Kiland. “We’re coming together as a team.”
